On Friday 29th November 2019, aspiring artists of all ages, from local Primary school children to adults, joined together for another year to celebrate the fabulous Willoughby Memorial Trust Art competition.  After many hopeful entries had been scrutinised by the panel of judges, prize winners and commended artists convened at the beautiful Willoughby Art Gallery in Corby Glen to receive their awards and see their creations on display, this year united together by the theme of ‘TRUTH’.  Amongst the successful artists were children from Bourne Abbey and Bourne Elsea Park Church of England Primary Academy.  In Class 1, Olivia Coudert was thrilled to receive Highly Commended for her colourful painted tree design, along with Mihail Stavrov for his amazing pencil drawing of a car.   Ellie Sunderland-Strutt impressed the judges with her references to the artist Claris Cliffe in her beautiful and concise colouring of a country scene, winning 2nd prize in Class 2.  Commenting after the event, Olivia said ‘I felt proud to see my own art work displayed in a real Gallery’.  As always, it is a pleasure to take part in this event as it inspires artists, young and old, novice and experienced to share their vision and creativity.  Congratulations to our deserved winners and many thanks to the judging panel and to the Willoughby Memorial Trust for supporting these young artists.
