On Monday 9th March 2020, a large group of extremely excited Year 4 children from Bourne Elsea Park C of E Primary Academy joined with equally excited children from Colsterworth C of E Primary School at the Caythorpe PGL residential centre for 3 days.

Once they arrived and after a busy few minutes of unpacking and getting to know their dormitories and the site, the children met their PGL leaders for the afternoon’s first set of activities.  Over the next few days, they faced amazing, fun challenges including abseiling, All aboard, buggy building, archery and climbing.

A mixture of rain, sunshine and high winds did not deter the children from showing incredible determination, team spirit and enthusiasm as they learned new skills, made new friends and achieved new heights, even creating a brand new x12 chant to teach their friends back at school!  Meals were hungrily consumed and even after dinner, quizzes and thrilling games of ambush were played in the dark before sleepy heads hit their pillows.

All of the staff were incredibly proud of the way the children behaved throughout the trip and how beautifully they supported each other, especially for those who were on their first trip away from home.  Well done children for showing how amazing you are and we hope you are already packing for next year’s trip!
