COVID Won’t Stop Us Spreading Christmas Cheer!

This year, COVID is once again scuppering many Christmas traditions, but we are determined not to let this nuisance stand in our way!

One of our favourite traditions is visiting the residents of The Cedars Care Home and we were devastated when we realised we wouldn’t be able to visit them again this Christmas. So we came up with a cunning plan to bring a smile to their faces and to let them know we are thinking of them all at this special time of year.

We decided to make exquisitely detailed and vibrantly coloured Christmas decorations that would fill the entire home with seasonal joy.

We began by using strips of paper in festive colours to create awesome paper chains. But these were no ordinary paper chains…to add an extra sparkle, we drew our best angels, elves, presents, candy canes and sleighs, and some of us even wrote special Merry Christmas messages and the lyrics to our favourite Christmas hits! Then we used pompoms and glitter to create magical forests of tiny, shimmering, sparkling Christmas trees. They looked stunning! Even if we do say so ourselves!

Once the decorations were completed, Amy said, ‘I really hope our decorations bring a Christmas smile to the faces of both the staff and residents. And we hope they know we are thinking of them all this Christmas.’
