Is It Spongebob? Is It a Disney Princess? Yes! But It’s Also… Pudsey Bear!

What a ‘fancy’ time the children and teachers had this Children in Need.  As the theme was ‘Together We Can!’, the whole school came together, and looked incredible, as they donned their different fancy dress costumes to raise money for this fantastic charity.

On Friday 19th November 2021, Children in Need came at the end of our already fabulous Friendship Week, where we had already taken part in lessons about the importance of friendship and how we can be loyal and inclusive friends.  We joined hundreds of other schools around the nation to raise funds for many of those children who are less fortunate than themselves.  We came dressed as Pudsey Bear, various Disney princesses, numerous Star Wars characters, the infamous Sponge Bob Squarepants, flouncing flamingos and many more weird and wonderful creations, and we took part in the day with incredible enthusiasm.

During the day, we had great fun buying mouth-watering cakes and biscuits, guessing how many M n Ms were on a cake, and colouring in Pudsey Bears. However, the grand finale came when the whole school came together in the hall for a fabulous Fancy Dress Karaoke session where we paraded our costumes and joined together to sing some of our favourite tunes with a giggle and a smile!

After our assembly, where we learnt more about some of the incredible projects that are funded by this amazing charity, we counted our pennies and proudly revealed a grand total of £549.92!  A huge well done and thank you to all of the children, staff, parents and carers that baked cakes, dressed up and gave money to this worthy cause whilst showcasing our Christian Value of Friendship and highlighting how we can all be Agents of Change in the lives of so many children, both locally and nationally.
