On the freezing cold morning of Saturday 30th November, children from the choirs of Bourne Abbey and Bourne Elsea Park Church of England Primary Academies joined choirs from other local primary and secondary schools to entertain the crowds gathered for the annual Christmas Lights Switch on in the town centre.  Dressed in tinsel and Christmas jumpers to combat the cold they warmed the hearts of the audience as they enthusiastically sang a host of festive songs with favourites such as Winter Wonderland and Jingle Bells, accompanied by the fantastic Bourne Academy Band.  Rebecca Beavis from Bourne Westfield coached and led the singers through the Christmas medley introducing the Bourne Super Choir to the audience before they sang.  Brave soloists, Ellie-Jo Wilson, Emily Cooper and Bronte Wyvill led the choir into their favourite Mariah Carey number, ‘All I Want For Christmas…’ as the rest of the choir, ranging from Y2-Y7 joined in with heart-warming smiles and festive joy.  If Bourne had not been ready for Christmas before the singing began, they certainly were after it had finished.  Well done to all of our Super Choir and thank you for bringing the spirit of Christmas to our celebrations!
