The children really raised the roof with joy and laughter this year on our most recent charity fundraising day for Comic Relief 2023. With the dressing up theme of Spreading Joy and Laughter, the school was filled with colours, patterns, odd socks galore, crazy hats and hairdos and even an alien!
The school hall was buzzing with excitement during the special Red Nose Day Collective Worship as the pupils learned about some uplifting stories of who they would be raising money for and how they were going to be Agents of Change in the lives of many children who are not able to access their UNICEF Rights. During the day, the sounds of side splitting laughter and giggles could be heard up and down the corridor as they pupils had been challenged to entertain their teachers and friends with the funniest jokes they could think of whilst members of Student Council created a humorous video of the many different performances to be shared later in the day.
Of course, no fund raiser would be the same without our fantastically, tantalising Cake Sale and this year did not disappoint. As well as spending their money buying delicious cakes and cookies, children were challenged to put their names in a hat to win the most stunning Red Nose Day Smash Cake, provided by an incredibly creative Y3 pupil and his very talented mum!
Eagerly the children waited to hear who had won and the lucky winner was celebrated in Y4! As always, everyone rose to the occasion, raising a simply amazing grand total of £471.31, one of our best totals ever! Well done and thank you to the generous grown ups in our school community who provided cakes and costumes. You are all Agents of Change and always shine with our Christian values of Friendship and Fellowship. We are always grateful for your enthusiasm and never ending generosity.
