        World Book Day

The children and staff at Bourne Elsea Park Church of England Primary Academy enjoyed a fun filled World Book Day on 5th March.  Many of the children came to school dressed as their favourite book characters from The Cat in the Hat to Pippi Longstocking and many more imaginative designs!. Children came with broomsticks to fly like their favourite Harry Potter characters, marmalade sandwiches for Paddington Bear to eat and even with their own supersized battery for a tiny Borrower character!

Throughout the day the children enjoyed the theme of sharing books and were able to read with their younger peers, took part in book quizzes, enjoyed a ‘book swap shop’ and chose from a menu of stories read to them by all the adults in school.  As well as dressing up as book characters some pupils chose to decorate a potato at home into a book character.  Prizes were awarded to the best dressed potato and most creative costume.
