STEM Ambassador Workshops Inspire Our Future Engineers!

        Author: Lorna Ockwell

‘Geared up’ children at Bourne Elsea Park Primary Academy enjoyed a fabulous engineering workshop led by STEM ambassadors Augy and Tanis Harrison last week. Bringing a wealth of engineering experience from Perkins Engines and having worked with schools leading Lego League over the years, this husband and wife team introduced pupils to the key concepts of pulleys, levers and gears through a hands-on, practical, problem-solving workshop that the children threw themselves into with incredible energy and enthusiasm! Augy Harrison also worked with children in Year 6 introducing them to the world of engineering, discussing where their learning today might take them in the future! One Year 5 pupil announced it was “the best science lesson they had ever had!”
