This term in art lessons, Year 6 have explored how masks were an important part of Maya culture. In their art lessons, they researched different Mayan masks and then chose one type that would inspire their own design. Once they had designed their mask, the children spent time practising a number of different clay rolling techniques, that would help them make their masks. The children enjoyed spending time practising these methods and using the equipment. Once they had mastered the skills they created their own mask out of clay and painted their final design.
