        Sports Day

        Author: Alex Worrall

On Wednesday 24th May and Tuesday 6th June, we held our KS1 and KS2 sports days. They were an absolute success and certainly did not disappoint.

During the mornings, the children demonstrated and embraced their throwing and jumping skills in the field events and they were absolutely delighted to welcome parents and carers, and families and friends to watch in the afternoon.

It was a fantastic colourful sight to see all the children competing in their house colour t-shirts in a variety of races. From the highly competitive sprint and endurance races to the hilarious sack race and the brilliant fancy-dress race. The standard of competition was high and there were some outstanding performances from individuals and some talented athletes on display.

The pupils demonstrated a lot of fantastic traits; determination to do well both for themselves and for their house, perseverance (especially in the sack race), teamwork and enthusiasm! They demonstrated a variety of body smart skills and had lots of fun taking part in the different races. It was a nerve wracking wait to find out which team had won each day. In KS1, Mars were the winners and on KS2 sports day, Saturn triumphed. A huge thank you to our Year 6 House Captains, Vice Captains and Bronze Young Ambassadors who helped organise the events.

There were huge smiles on the children’s faces throughout, which was a joy to see, and all the staff were incredibly proud of the children for another wonderful sports day!
