        A Motivational Harvest Celebration

        Author: Lorna Ockwell

Our entire school was filled with the sights and sounds of harvest this week. Our kitchen was full to the brim with bags of donations, provided by some of our families and staff, our hall echoed with the sounds of our beautiful harvest songs and each and every classroom was filled with children thinking carefully about this special time of year.

On Wednesday 12th October, our Reception and KS1 children performed their Harvest Festival celebration. Not not only did this celebration give us a chance to further reflect on this term’s Christian Values of Creativity and Creation, but it also encouraged us to think about the importance of being thankful. We thought about where different foods come from, the hard-working farmers who grow and harvest it, and our parents and carers who work hard to bring these foods to our tables.

We were all motivated by this amazing opportunity to be Agents of Change within our community. Knowing that every child has the right to good food, clean water and health care, we showed respect to all members of our local community by bagging up the mountains of food ready for it to be taken to the Bourne Food Bank.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who donated.
