        Be Safe Be Seen

We took part in Road Safety Week from the 20th – 24th November. The week helped pupils learn how to stay safe on the roads.

The theme of this year’s Road Safety Week, the UK’s biggest annual road safety campaign, was ‘Let’s talk about speed’.

In our Road Safety Week collective worship we discussed the dangers of speed on the roads and shared key messages of how to stay safe on the roads including ‘Stop, Look and Listen’ and sharing the Green Cross Code. The children learnt about how and why children view roads differently, stopping distances and why it is important for drivers to keep their speed down.

We were lucky to have a donation from the Co-Op of reflective arm bands and badges to help keep our children safe on the roads. The children have loved their badges and reflective arm bands and have worn them when walking to and from school. We launched a Road Safety poster competition with prizes from the Co-Op.

Road Safety Week is an important event to remind children of how to stay safe on the roads. We have been impressed by the children’s ideas and thoughts on how to stay safe and promote road safety.
