Earth Day – Invest in Our Planet
On Friday 21st April we celebrated Earth Day and focussed on this year’s theme ‘Invest In Our Planet’. Earth Day, which is celebrated globally on the 22nd April, raises awareness of how we can look after our planet.
The Eco Warriors, from Year 1 up to Year 6, led a Collective Worship to the whole school focussing on how the children could become Agents of Change and make a change to their lifestyle to help look after our world.
Throughout the Collective Worship, the children explored why Earth is important, how our planet is amazing and what we can do to help. They shared ideas on recycling, travel, food and investing in our local area.
Our Eco Warriors did an excellent job leading a Collective Worship to the whole school. It helped to inspire our school, both children and adults to make small changes each day and become Agents of Change. It was an excellent addition to Eco Schools Green Flag Award.
