Striving For Excellence, Caring For All In a Loving And Caring Christian Environment.

Even the Rain Didn’t Dampen our Enthusiasm!

        Author: Lorna Ockwell

On Tuesday 21st May and Tuesday 4th June, we held our Reception/ KS1 and KS2 sports days. They were an absolute success and certainly did not disappoint, despite the weather trying to dampen the mood for KS2.

During the mornings, the children demonstrated and embraced their throwing and jumping skills in the field events and they were absolutely delighted to welcome parents and carers, families and friends to watch in the afternoon.

It was a fantastic colourful sight to see all the children competing in their house colour t-shirts in a variety of races. From the highly competitive sprint to the hilarious sack and the brilliant fancy-dress races. The standard of competition was high and there were some outstanding performances from individuals and some talented athletes on display.

The pupils demonstrated a lot of fantastic traits; determination to do well both for themselves and for their house, perseverance (especially in the sack race), teamwork and enthusiasm! They demonstrated a variety of body smart skills and had lots of fun taking part in the different races. It was a nerve wracking wait to find out which team had won each day. In KS1, Saturn were the winners and on KS2 sports day, Mars triumphed. A huge thank you to our Year 6 House Captains, Vice Captains, Bronze Young Ambassadors ad staff who helped organise the events.

There were huge smiles on the children’s faces throughout, which was a joy to see, and all the staff were incredibly proud of the children for another wonderful sports day!
