Generous Donation Boosts Our Love of Books

        Author: Lorna Ockwell

On Thursday 25th May, the children of Bourne Elsea Park Primary Academy welcomed Mrs Bennet from Bourne United Charities into their Collective Worship in order to say a HUGE thank you for their generous donation of £2000. The money was spent on a phenomenal array of books that were carefully selected to ensure there was something for everyone, from hilarious fiction such as the Tom Gates and Dogman series, to the inspiring and fascinating real-life accounts in the Spies and Explorers books. Miss Ockwell, Year 4 class teacher said, ‘The books we have been able to purchase are some of the most stunning books I have ever seen. The illustrations are extraordinary, and the wide-range of content has caused quite a stir! It really was wonderful to so many children carefully making their way round our library deciding which book to take home first. We are incredibly grateful to Bourne United Charities for their fantastically generous donation and we know this money will help the children continue to develop a life-long love of reading.’
