This term, Year 4 have been learning about the life of Anglo-Saxons, from their arrival in Britain following the fall of the Roman Empire, to their battles and strives surviving in turbulent times. They also learnt about the simple village life they preferred in contrast to the civilised Roman ways of living. To bring this lesson to life, the children made their own Anglo-Saxon villagers (complete with the accessories each needed to complete their village duties), and then they acted out a Day in the Life of their group of villagers.
Here are some of the characters we met that day. Don’t be fooled, they may look cute, but they were seriously hard-working! even the little children!
