PE workshop with Paralympian Sam Ruddock

        Author: Alex Worrall

On Monday 27th March, Year 4 had a visit from Paralympian Sam Ruddock who delivered a PE workshop.  The focus and objective was to encourage focus under pressure. This is a key skill that all student athletes need and the Year 4 children were put to the test with ‘Quick Maths’ and ‘Spot the Difference”. ‘Quick Maths was definitely a firm favourite and the children could have played this game for the entire session, it’s amazing what a set of over-sized playing cards can do!

After the fun and games, Sam sat with the children and talked about ways they could prepare for challenges in the future, by using the hearts, bodies and minds to make themselves more resilient. This links perfectly to our Character Education focus of self regulation.
