We learn about the Christian Values are Trust and Hope. Christians see their hope in God’s promise “that love and goodness have, and will ultimately, overcome all evil”. This hope is manifested in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This Value will be developed in the life of the school by helping the children to understand that there is a chance of a new beginning and a fresh start in every situation. Children are encouraged to bring hope to others and their own futures.
Trust is the basis of all stable relationships, including a person’s relationship with God. The children will be reminded of this important value through the Bible story The Parable of the Three Bags of Coins. Through this story, Jesus teaches us that it is God’s wish that we use our special gifts and abilities instead of hiding them away. “The more trustworthy we are, the more we are trusted with. The more we give, the more we are given.”
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
