Over the past few weeks, the children of the Bourne Elsea Park Volunteering Club have completed 2 pretty exciting missions. Their first was to make postcards, posters and cards for the new king, King Charles III, commemorating the life of his mother, the Queen, and congratulating him on becoming the new king.
Then, their second mission was to help raise money for the wonderful MacMillan Cancer Support charity. To do this, they made posters promoting the World’s Largest Coffee Morning and displayed them in the school staffroom. This proved to be a stealthy strategy as the teachers were soon stampeding to the staffroom to put their donations in the collection pot. Then, on Friday 30th September, at 9:10am sharp, the Volunteering Club gathered together all the donations (including their own) and headed down to the Coffee Morning at the Bourne Elsea Park community centre. Their nostrils immediately filled with the smell of freshly baked cookies and they quickly made their donations and grabbed themselves a tasty treat! They were DELISH!
The children were incredibly proud to take part in the event and they were thrilled to discover they had helped to raise £107.40 to donate to an exceptionally worthy cause.
Wow! What else with this terrific tribe accomplish this term?
