        Year 6 Marvellous Maya Masks

        Author: Alex Worrall

This term in art lessons, Year 6 have explored how masks were an important part of Maya culture. In their art lessons, they researched different Mayan masks and then chose one type that would inspire their own design. Once they had designed their mask, the children spent time practising a number of different clay rolling techniques, that would help them make their masks. The children enjoyed spending time practising these methods and using the equipment.

They then used their design and different techniques to create their own Maya mask.
