Tears of Pride and Joy at Troy Story

        Author: Lorna Ockwell

‘Wow, wow, wow’ was just one of many fantastic remarks made about Year 5’s ‘Troy Story’ class assembly. Dressed as mighty Greek Gods, warriors and Trojans, they treated their audience to an immersive retelling of the story of the fall of Troy through drama and songs. The performance began on top of Mount Olympus where we joined the Greek Gods before travelling across the Aegean Sea to Troy to win back Helen from Paris. It was fantastic to see the children learn first-hand what it was like to be Greek and Trojan and how different life was in Ancient Greece. All pupils displayed outstanding enthusiasm and courage as well as superb acting and singing talents, resulting in the audience crying with both laughter and pride. They definitely all had the Wow Factor! We can’t wait to see how they continue to flourish in their Year 6 production next year.
